Hotel Landscape Project at Pahiyangala, Sri Lanka

Pahiyangala, Sri Lanka2025278 Square rodClient: The Stream Hotel Management
Design Objective

To transform the hotel into an organized, guest-friendly, and nature-integrated landscape, balancing aesthetics with practicality, circulation, and guest comfort while preserving the peaceful, stream-side environment near the Pahiyangala Cave.

ENTRY
01 Organized Arrival & Parking

Entry Landscape & Car Parking Area

The arrival experience was strategically redefined to create a clear and welcoming entrance sequence that immediately establishes the hotel's professional identity. The design achieved this by replacing the old boundary with a sleek, modern fence and providing a highly structured, asphalt-paved car parking area that ensures efficient vehicle organization. Key improvements included using soft planting along the boundaries to soften the architecture and the replacement of any hazardous trees with robust shade trees within the parking lot itself, enhancing guest comfort. The overall design ensures a clean visual approach toward the hotel bridge and reception, setting the tone for smooth arrival and circulation for both guests and staff.

03 Event & Photogenic Setting

Outdoor Wedding Space & Photo Location

A dedicated open space for small ceremonies and photography. The design centers on a manicured, lawn-free access path flanked by formal hedging, natural boulders, and an elegant classical pavilion as a focal point. Dense planting and modern slatted screening provide a photogenic backdrop. Durable flat stone paving addresses leech concerns and provides flexibility for event setup.
